Bug #330
closedlive boot cd won't
0%
Description
I downloaded both 1.6.0 version and 1.4.4 versions of DragonflyBSD.
Using WinRAR, I extracted the .iso files into folders on my computer.
During the extraction, there were a few files that were copied/already
existed. I took the option of keeping the larger file where such a choice was
possible, which was only once or twice I think.
I then burned the contents of the files over onto cd’s.
When I place the cd into the drive, it will come up with the
DragonflyBSD ‘page’, and I can browse it with no problems.
However I can not boot from the cd.
Here’s what I have on the disk:
(Folders)
Autorun
Bin
Boot
Dev
Etc
Etc.hdd
Mnt
Modules
Proc
Root
Sbin
Tmp
Usr
Var
(Files)

Boot.catalog
.cshrd

Dflybsd.ico

Help? Just let me know what I did wrong.
Thanks

As other replies already indicated: you need to burn the image you downloaded
directly on the coaster, without extracting the files, nor creating a filesystem
which contains the image.
Apart from that, the latest iso snapshots have a working installer again.
