Do we have any chance to test this again?

Cheers,
Antonio Huete
DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2459: apic problems with HP Probook 4510shttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/2459?journal_id=122902014-11-14T21:16:48Zcnbcneirabustos@gmail.com

I'm my case is worse, I have general dynamics gobook-vr2 that have the same issues with the msk0 driver.
Also with the iwn driver the interface does not works always fails with the message could not load firmware (4965 firmware).
Adding the line to the loader.conf fixes both issues.
DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2459: apic problems with HP Probook 4510shttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/2459?journal_id=124322015-01-15T00:30:16Ztuxillo

Target version changed from 3.9.x to 4.2

Hi,

The workaround available is disabling IO APIC in the loader. Adding this line to /boot/loader.conf

hw.ioapic_enable=0

I'm not sure if we can do anything else on this issue.

Cheers,
Antonio Huete
DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2459: apic problems with HP Probook 4510shttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/2459?journal_id=124512015-01-15T08:22:13Zswildner

The dmesg is with a broken ACPI module unfortunately:

Preloaded elf kernel "kernel" at 0xffffffff83008000.
Preloaded elf obj module "acpi.ko" at 0xffffffff83008550.
Preloaded elf obj module "ehci.ko" at 0xffffffff83008ee8.
link_elf_obj_obj: symbol atomic_swap_int undefined
KLD file acpi.ko - could not finalize loading

I think unless we get feedback from e.g. a current snapshot or release, this issue could be closed, because we can't guarantee a properly working system without ACPI loaded.
DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2459: apic problems with HP Probook 4510shttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/2459?journal_id=124942015-01-18T18:41:51Zthowe

I will try a recent snap on the same laptop soon.
