Description
DragonFly 3.9 fails to boot on an Hitachi Compute Blade 2000 machine
Hardware specs:
- 8x Xeon E7-8870 CPUs (Westmere cores)
- 80 Cores, 160 threads
- 4TB RAM
- With 4TB RAM, the machine reboots by itself once the kernel has printed some copyright information
- With hw.physmem set to 64GB, the kernel is a little bit more happy but still fails to boot completely:
[start of dmesg]
...
avail memory = 62892793856 (59979 MB)
madt_lapic_probe: no CPU is found
MPTABLE: lapic id 64, disable HTT fixup
lapic: divisor index 0, frequency 0 Hz
panic: assertion "lapic_cputimer_intr.freq != 0 && lapic_timer_divisor_idx >= 0" failed in set_apic_timer at /usr/src/sys/platform/pc64/apic/lapic.c:690
cpuid = 0
