Description

Version tested: DragonflyBSD 1.4 Release
Sympthomes: dhclient can't receive DHCPOFFERS, becuse he does not send
anything over the wire.

`tcpdump -n -i xl0 -vvv` shows, that bootp request packet was sent, but
not xmit led
on netcard, not data led on cable modem are blinking.
Confirmed with xl/rl/tl polling on and off.

I have two separate 1.4 machines with rl cards connecting through DHCP -
one to a local dhcp server, and another to my cable Internet provider,
without issues. I suspect your problem is with hardware. Are you getting
a link light on the card when the cat5 cable is plugged in?
