I just wanted to follow up to point out that this is quite a problem with
libthread_xu at the moment. I'd appreciate any input/resolution regarding
this. We shouldn't ship 2.0 with this problem.

David, do you have any idea why thunderbird and firefox wouldn't be able
to connect to ssl services? (Meaning, they just spin, connections get
established though) This sometimes happens, sometimes not. Of course it
could also be a timing issue within mozilla, but I doubt that.

I tried debugging it, but thunderbird does millions of mutex operations,
so I can't really get to the problem.

I run a relative old HEAD (kernel is up-to-date, world is from Jan5,
using libthread_xu) on my laptop (UP box), I didn't seem to have
problem with ssl connection (https://url) in firefox.

Do you have a recent firefox? I'm not sure when it started here. I just
recompiled thunderbird, so maybe it also needs a recent mozilla/world. I
did observe this already in december on my laptop.

2.0.0.11 firefox. I built it when libc_r -> libthread_xu

I also observed this behavior yesterday (recent world and newest firefox from
pkgsrc). Reload the Website or reopen firefox fixed that problem temporary, but I
think this issue should be resolved :)
