Redmine DragonFlyBSD - Bug #1518 (Closed): CD/DVD long boot time / unclear loghttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/15182009-09-17T23:25:59Zcorecode

The CD/DVD uses mount_mfs to create a writable directory structure. Unfortunately mount_mfs copies all overlayed files instantaneously, leading to a very long boot time.

Additionally, the mounts happen after fsck prints some error about /dev/cd0a, so one could get the impression that the system is somehow fsck'ing the CD.
DragonFlyBSD - Bug #1514 (Closed): /usr/src/games/atc build warning/failurehttps://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/15142009-09-16T17:21:03Zcorecode

Hey,

Yesterday night I tried to play a DVD. No luck. I tried with Ubuntu,
no luck either until I installed libdvdcss. So my drive works, but
DragonFly has no means of playing a DVD.

That's pathetic.

A selection of error messages (all with libdvdcss installed):

ogle:
(from dmesg)
ata0: FAILURE - non aligned DMA transfer attempted
acd0: setting up DMA failed

mplayer:
(from dmesg):
ata0: FAILURE - non aligned DMA transfer attempted
acd0: setting up DMA failed

Weird. It's sitting there in contigmalloc() allocating 32 pages for the
GATT. Why this doesn't happen, I don't know.

How much RAM do you have installed?

Yes, stable, though not all corner cases might be fleshed out, of course.
