<p>It seems that default option under VBox is with ACPI disabled. No idea why it is<br />happening yet but definitely worth taking a look.</p>

<p>There's a fix now in master (commit 7d81ec720ff953ca935cc460af576fa2ca503a82)<br />that makes the loader to properly detect the ACPI presence. So you can download<br />the latest ISO being created in the following days to check out this fix.</p>
