Bug #1477
closedA lib/udev-compatible interface should eventually be created
Description
sysutils/hal builds and very basic stuff is there, but it lacks support for
many devices. Some of it could be pulled in from FreeBSD ports maybe, but one
of most important points - support for storage - must be written from scartch
probably.
Now with devd hal could be much more useful than it was for now.

As far as I understand, hal is now deprecated in favor of DeviceKit. As such,
an effort to port sysutils/hal would be wasted and should be directed to port
DeviceKit.
I'm changing the title to reflec this.
Cheers,
Alex Hornung

Changing again, DeviceKit is also deprecated at this point in favor of udev +
libudev.
