DFBSD 1.10.1 - Toshiba Satellite P15-S479 freezes while booting (Cardbus)
Added by DominoTree about 17 years ago.
Updated almost 10 years ago.
Description
Dragonfly 1.10.1 fails to boot on my Toshiba Satellite P15-S479 notebook, tried
with and without ACPI disabled. The last message output in verbose mode by the
kernel is "cbb0: lazy allocation of 0x1000 bytes rid 0x10 type 3 at 0xc2000000"
After that point, the system has hard locked and must be power cycled.
Could you paste the verbose boot message before this line?
Best Regards,
sephe
here's the whole block of text right before the laptop locks:
pci2: <unknown card> (vendor=0x168c, dev=0x0013) at 2.0 irq 9
cbb0.pci2.pcib2.pci0.pcib0.legacypci0.nexus0.root0
cbb0: <ToPIC100 PCI-CardBus Bridge> [tentative] at device 4.0 on pci2
pcib2: device cbb0 requested decoded memory range 0xc2000000-0xc20fffff
cbb0: lazy allocation of 0x1000 bytes rid 0x10 type 3 at 0xc2000000
Just tried the latest nightly and it behaves the same.

Hi,
i386 is no longer supported and that laptop has a 32-bit CPU.
Closing.
