Bug #1221
closedUSB stick image
0%
Description
Hi,
I wrote a script that converts an .iso image to an .img that can
be written to an USB stick. I'd love to see an USB stick version
of DragonFly released next to the CDROM .iso for two reasons:
- I don't want to waste any further CDs
- Netbooks don't have CD readers
What do you think?
Regards,
Michael

Will it boot? I remember that booting from usb sticks used to be a big
pain in the ass.

It boots on my system and I think it will on every not too old system.
It's treated like a regular hard disk.

Hmm, you could try to integrate this into nrelease/Makefile, so that
specifying 'image', as in e.g. 'make installer release image' would
create an additional dfly.img besides the dfly.iso.

Has been committed to nrelease/Makefile.
