Bug #2622
openVAIO FIT15E fn keys support
0%
Description
Sony Vaio Fit15E is not supported by acpi_sony.ko
so it's not possibile from keyboard to reduce brightness, activate of deactive trackpad, volume and so on.
Here there is a acpidump -d -v : http://paste.scsys.co.uk/287740
I'll appreciate anyone able to add support of this laptop to dragonflybsd.
Thank you in advance, \ferz

I don't know if it can be useful. On ubuntu Fn keys work, at least for Fn+F(2,3,4,5,6)

Can you fetch and apply the following patch:
http://leaf.dragonflybsd.org/~swildner/0001-WIP-spic-4-driver.patch
and put in your kernel config:
device spic0 at isa? irq 0 port 0x10a0
and rebuild the kernel / reboot.
After that, please tell me if using the Fn keys that don't work will generate messages on the console, and if so, which specific message for which key is printed. I am not sure if acpi_sony.ko will have to be loaded at the same time, so if it doesn't work without, please try with it loaded too.
Thanks,
Sascha

Thank you Sascha,
It hangs during loading just after to write on console:
spic0: <Sony Programmable I/O Controller> at port 0x10a0-0x10a4 on isa0
and it hangs with or without acpi_sony.ko in /boot/loader.conf
I've applied patch to master, not to 3.6 release.
