Description

Hi,

I get a black screen when xorg is started after updating the system this morning (v4.3.0.1.ga6aa3-DEVELOPMENT) running kernel X86_64_GENERIC.

The following lines are in /var/log/messages that seems to cause the problem:

looking up kenv for "drm.video.lvds1"
didn't find value for kenv drm.video.lvds1
looking up kenv for "drm.video.vga1"
didn't find value for kenv drm.video.vga1

These kernel variables do not exist, but seem to be needed here. Latest Xorg log contains a warning which might be connected to drm load messages listed above:

(WW) intel(0): drmDropMaster failed: Unkown error: -22
(II) config/devd: terminating backend...

System is a Lenovo X61 with a graphics chipset GM965 from Intel.

Regards
Matthias

When deinstalling xf86-video-intel pkg, graphics output is running in VESA mode.
Attached is the Xorg log with intel drivers active.
