Bug #1356
closedXircom cardbus NIC (dc0) not working in 2.2.1
0%
Description
With a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop and a Xircom cardbus card, I cannot
connect to anything on the network. DHCP will not assign an address
to the card and it won't connect if I manually configure the address
either. This card was working in DF 2.0. As you can see from the
attached dmesg, I get several "livelock messages" when this interface
is config'ed in rc.conf and I get the "dc0: watchdog timeout" message
every 5 seconds. The xl0 built-in interface on the laptop works fine.
Note that if I boot the latop without the card and then insert it, I
immediately get the message "intr 10 at 40001/40000 hz, livelocked
limit engaged!"
I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm the only one that uses this
silly card with DFly. Are you guys trying to tell me I should toss it
and buy a decent card? :-)

It is probably not NIC related. Did you try disabling ACPI?

ACPI is the culprit. I've always had success using this card with
ACPI enabled, including under 2.0, so it didn't even occur to me to
disable it. So something between 2.0 and 2.2 broke it, FYI. Thanks!

I no longer have the hardware to test this. I guess you can close this if you want.
